Project Code: 6020

Description of the project

It will listen to your auditory instructions and work accordingly. The voice-controlled raspberry pi will help with home automation in a way that it will listen to the keywords that have been fed into it and will follow the command.

Operation of the Voice Controlled Home Automation Using Raspberry Pi Project

The voice-controlled home automation using the raspberry pi is a system that has a microphone to listen to your auditory instruction. Along with the microphone, there is a monitor to reflect the status of the device. The Raspberry device also has 4 relays. These relays are the switches that can open or close the circuit electronically with the flow of current. All these, microphones, LCD display (monitor), and the 4 relays are on one side of the Raspberry device.

On the other side, you will see the 4 different devices attached to the Raspberry device. It also has a buzzer which can be considered the fifth device. The devices that can be connected to the Raspberry Pi are a fan, bulb, and any two other machines.

Block diagram description

It works in a way that the microphone listens to all the necessary keywords that are stored in the Raspberry device. Once the voice instruction passes through the microphone, the Raspberry device does the processing and shows the status on the LCD display. And according to the instruction, the Raspberry device forwards the commands to the relay to close or open the circuit. The flow of current is then stopped or provided to the devices. The device is turned on or off according to the given instruction.

The Raspberry device processes all the information before proceeding further to the device. There is also a buzzer that is attached to it. You can turn it on or off by giving instructions to the Raspberry Pi home automation device through the microphone. The raspberry pi shows the initial status on the LCD display and the completed status as the instruction is processed and completed.

Advantages, applications, and enhancements of the Voice Controlled Home Automation Using Raspberry Pi project

  • The voice-controlled home automation raspberry pi device has made the lives of many humans easy and accessible.
  • The ease to switch on and off any device without putting in some extra effort has been the main motto of this device.
  • It also has the feature to switch on or off all the devices at once.
  • It can be used to control up to 4 devices along with a buzzer.
  • The raspberry pi can be enhanced to make it handier and more accessible. It can be modified to handle more than 4 devices and help in home automation completely.
