We are now in the age of IoT, AI, and Machine learning. Any problem including some of the rarest problems with no solution now has the smartest solution. One such problem was Accident Identification. Identifying an accident and delivering necessary equipment to the spot was a huge challenge for ages. We have developed an accident identification and alerting system to solve this problem.

Description of the project:

We have come up with a solution so smartly that it will take a few seconds. It will identify an accident and the location of that accident. Our system has a multifunctional response system. That will also help you analyze the cause of the incident.

Let us consider your child is on a school bus. Somehow the driver of that bus crosses the safety limit speed then our system will send a message to the school authority that the bus is now crossing the safety limit of the speed. If some accident happens and anyone on that bus press 1 of the keyboard in our system then it will send a message to the registered mobile numbers that an accident happens but it is not serious. For key 2 it shows that the accident is serious, etc.

If anyone is not able to press any particular key it still sends messages to the registered mobile numbers. You can also track the spot of the accident using Google Maps on your smartphone.

Operation of the Accident identification and alerting system project

When anyone presses any key on the keypad it sends input to the microcontroller. Then it checks the purpose of that input and sends a signal to the GPS+GSM MODEM and LCD display. Now GSM modem sends an SMS to the registered mobile numbers and also GPS will help you to track the location.

The speed of the bus is going to be measured continuously by an Accelerometer sensor. The speed will continuously be analyzed by the microcontroller. If the speed of the bus crosses the safety limit then the microcontroller will send input to the GPS+GSM MODEM and also to the display. Now this GSM will send a message to the registered mobile number that the speed crosses the safety limit.

Applications, advantages of the Accident identification and alerting system

  • This system can be used by any transportation service such as a bus, office cab, and tourist vehicle.
  • This project can be used in personal cars and bikes.
  • Generally, when an accident happens it takes a lot of time to detect the location and intensity of that accident. This sometimes causes heavy loss. Our safety system can respond within a few seconds and this will help to save so many lives.
  • As this device is portable and small in size you can install this anywhere you want.
  • This project is easy to use.

Future scope/Future development of this project:

  • We can provide an alternative response system in case of any system failure. This will provide extra security.
  • We can analyze the behavior of the driver, the speed of the car, and traffic conditions by using advanced sensors and by using the advanced level of machine learning. You will be able to see it in the next versions of this device.
