How It Works

The LPG gas sensor continuously monitors the air for gas concentration and sends its readings to the Arduino microcontroller. When gas levels cross a safe threshold, the Arduino:

  1. Turns on the buzzer to alert anyone nearby
  2. Displays a “Leakage Detected” message on the LCD
  3. Sends the sensor reading to a GSM/GPRS modem, which pushes the data to a website over GPRS and sends an SMS alert to a registered phone number

This means you can be alerted to a gas leak — by SMS and via the website — even when you’re not physically present.

Note: A SIM card with GSM/GPRS network coverage is required for the alerts to work.

Answer: Not in the current version — it detects and alerts on leaks rather than displaying a live percentage. This can be added as a custom modification.

What all data is sent to the website?

Answer: The sensor reading is sent in real time. Location data can be added with an optional GPS module.
